Holiday Greetings

Sunday, December 25th, 2011

I know it’s late, but yesterday I was so tired I went to sleep shortly after 19:00, so… merry Christmas and happy New Year for all of you!

Our (Guitar) Hero Has Been Saved!

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Sandra has found a forum thread where they discuss how to fix my third (actually, my first) XBOX360 guitar controller. I love her so much! And obviously this isn’t the main reason.

Look again

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

People are always looking for something, for someone. Sometimes they find them, sometimes they don’t, and sometimes they’re found by those they are looking for. Sometimes they look at them and can’t see them for what they are, and sometimes they don’t look twice. They pass by blindly, still looking for that precious one they’ve just left behind.

Sometimes you need to have a second look, give a second chance, form a second opinion.

When we first met, I didn’t feel anything special about you. You were funny, you were smart, and you were my kind of crazy. I liked you, but I like many people. When I came home after that first date, I knew we’ll meet again, but I thought we’ll be just friends. Things then happened, and now I look at you with different thoughts and feelings. When I first looked at you, I thought “yeah she’s okay”, but yesterday, when we were at that game store playing board games, and I had to sit opposite of you, and I looked at you, the first thing that popped into my mind was “Gosh, but she is beautiful”. And that’s when I realised, I love you.

Often a second look just comfirms your first opinion, but sometimes, when it really matters, a second chance can change your world.

New poll… / Új szavazás…

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

I’ve created a new poll, and here’s the detailed description.

I’m toying with the idea to create a roleplaying game organizer site, where players could create and update characters (different RPG systems could be added as plugins), create and manage games, assign characters and players to games, share info. It would include some GM tools, like Character Rewards (XP, Gold, items, etc.), overview characters, print/view character sheets in games (so you can check the Perception value of any missing player’s character on autopilot), organize sessions through a calendar interface, maybe include message boards, etc. Now the question is: for a small third party site like this, which account management would you prefer? Google ID, Facebook Login, other openID services, or the site should stay away from those and just have an own registration/login method?

You can vote in the sidebar, you may select more than one option.

All things considered…

…it’s high time I get my shit together. Seriously. I always avoid it by saying I lack the motivation, which is true, but that motivation won’t find itself.

I think I’ll need a PM for my homebrew projects. That would be a start.

Background Music

Friday, November 5th, 2010

Dargaard would be very welcome at our Earthdawn games, it’s dark and caverny enough to dub a kaer hunt or a night ambush. Unfortunately there’s no way to put on some music where we play, so there.

Life, as usual

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

I’ve finished Mirror’s Edge at last (I had the last chapter waiting for me for ages), and I loved it. I’m GM-ing Earthdawn for two parties at the weekend (one each day), and… I don’t know why I started this post.

The Steel Mount

Not the best pictures, but again, my 3 years old phone doesn’t take quality pictures indoors. Anyways, welcome my new humble steed (click to enlarge the pictures):

Realizations

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

On Thursday I couldn’t solve the Rubik-cube. On Friday I couldn’t work because I had to wait for others, and my colleague had his Rubik-cube there, and I was annoyed of the fact I couldn’t solve it, so I googled it. Now I can solve it in roughly 4 minutes. Not a competitive score, but still.

If I get motivated, I can still commit myself into learning things. I could still accomplish things, were I motivated. Now I really need to find some motivation, because I do have plans and ideas.

On an other note, I’ve got fed up with windows 7, and installed linux on my netbook – now I’m amazed what I have put up with. Win 7 was really slow, now my netbook does wonders. Just one thing: I almost never turned it off. I either hibernated or just suspended Lenny. From suspend, it usually took 1-3 minutes for win 7 to get up. With Ubuntu that’s roughly 10 seconds. Not to mention it looks better, it’s more configurable, and I wasn’t to play tomb raider underworld on the netbook anyways. Writing that “Linux handbook for dummies” article series suddenly looks possible.

Budapest

A very nice video about Budapest, and inventions made (or contributed) by hungarians.
