Help me grow it!

This game is one of my favourite adventure games. I like the Lucasart games for their puns and humour, and I like this for the story and background of it. This game has far the most conversations in an adventure game, and its background stories, it’s world is so developed it has its own legends and myths. One of them is the Tale of Homecoming – a story that should be told not only in the game.

This post was in my drafts for so long, and I haven’t finished it. I guess I just post it unfinished or it will haunt me for the rest of my blogger life.

Since I came home (from Sweden…) I watched a lot of movies, to keep my mind from wandering – I don’t have any holes to fix, only in my knowledge maybe… Let’s see…

My name is Modesty

My parents bought the DVD, and my mom said it’s good – that could have been a warning sign. They bought it so it was free for me, I thought. It was uber boredom.

The excerpt was more exciting than the whole movie – probably because it exaggerated a lot. It said “she went through a rigorous drill”, which actually was an old man teaching her reading, speaking several languages, and some martial arts. The excerpt was talking about an exciting action movie – this movie was a boring flashback about how she grew up. Oh, there was action. First, about 4 minutes while the “bad guys” infiltrated the casino. And, after about an hour, another 8 minutes, 5 of that is she brawling with the antagonist. Inbetween… they were playing roulette, while she talked about her childhood memories.

I say, if it was half this long, it could have been an okay pilot for a series. But like this… take evasive action.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Many say this was the best adaptation of the HP books so far. It might be true – however, the movie is still crap. Certainly, the fifth book was the first I didn’t like at all from the series (couldn’t make myself to finish the sixth book, and I don’t intend to), but apart from that…

Let’s overlook how they left several smaller things out. Let’s overlook how they changed Umbridge’s character (because this pink granny is as antipathetic as the original). Let’s not even think about how they looked over some bigger elements (like the rotating room in the Ministry of Magic). The movie is still bad and stinks.

After the movie, VaBéla mentioned something interesting. That is, if the Deatheaters know the spell which instantly kills anyone, also they don’t have to care about mana or memorization or other limits… why don’t they just kill anyone they want? I guess it’s the usual reason: in movies, the bad guys ALWAYS leave enough time for the good guys to get their plans, escape, regroup, have a pizza, and give them a good asskicking.

Luna was good though.

Fantastic Four

I love the Marvel universe. Mostly because the marvel superheroes not just simply have a knack to kick bad guys, they are closer to humans because of their character flaws. Like, Spiderman, who’s private life is worse than mine. Or, the X-men, who, while have to fight against several other mutants to defend the non mutant humans, have to suffer from the hate and anger of those defended. There’s Rogue, who can probably have one of the most powerful powers, but just ask her about an intimate relationship with anyone.

I didn’t know too much about the F4, except of their powers, their family state, and that they got their powers because of some radiation they got in space while being on a mission, so I had no big expectation from the story when I watched the movies. Most of my friends said it’s bad, but I quite liked them. Since the comic series were popular, and the movies are not what you’d call, fresh out of the oven, I can spoiler as much as I want.
The first movie (as the Spiderman series) concentrates on their origin: the doomed mission they got their powers from, and where their arch-enemy, Victor von Doom, got his too.

…and the post ended here, and I can’t really continue, because I’ve seen the two F4 movies months ago and can’t really part the two. I might rewatch them some time and finish this thing.
